Digital Ecosystems for Global Agriculture
Producer Co. designs complete digital ecosystems for the global rice value chain — connecting verified sustainability, ESG governance, and SDG market access to create high-value agricultural outcomes at scale.
The Challenge & Our Mission
The industrial rice model prioritized caloric output at the cost of ecological stability. Linear, fragile, and blind to market signals — it leaves 130M smallholders invisible to premium buyers and climate finance.
Precision data loops, satellite intelligence, and verified sustainability credentials transform rice from a commodity into a traceable, high-value asset — connecting farm practices to global ESG capital and SDG markets.
Satellite ImageryIoT SensorsBlockchainAI Analytics"The future of rice is not about growing more — it is about growing smarter, verifying better, and connecting the value that already exists in every sustainable harvest."
— Producer Co. Strategic Mandate, 2026The Platform
An integrated intelligence layer built specifically for rice — from field-level measurement to institutional-grade reporting.
Field polygon mapping across 3.17B hectares. Real-time NDVI, flood detection, and crop phenology at plot level with >90% accuracy.
In-field sensors for soil moisture, temperature, and methane flux. Continuous data collection enabling Alternate Wetting & Drying (AWD) certification.
Immutable audit trails from seed to market. Carbon credit issuance, ESG disclosure packages, and SRP compliance — all verifiable on-chain.
Connecting verified producers to premium rice buyers, carbon markets, development finance institutions, and sovereign food-security programs.
dMRV Pipeline
Satellite remote sensing + IoT sensor networks capture practice data — water management, fertiliser application, yield estimates — at individual plot resolution across entire growing seasons.
AI-driven aggregation converts raw field data into audit-ready ESG reports aligned to CSRD, GHG Protocol, and Verra VCS standards — exportable for institutional disclosure.
Certified verifiers sign off on emissions reductions and biodiversity outcomes. Results are tokenised on-chain as tradeable carbon credits and sustainability credentials.
Outcomes
Verified sustainability credentials unlock price premiums of 15–40% above commodity price — directly to smallholder bank accounts via digital payment rails.
AWD practice adoption reduces methane emissions up to 50%. Each verified tonne of CO₂e becomes a tradeable carbon credit, generating additional revenue streams.
Institutional buyers — retailers, food brands, sovereign funds — gain audit-ready scope 3 data that meets CSRD and SEC climate disclosure requirements.
Every verified harvest contributes measurably to SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships) — with UN-recognised documentation.
Sustainability
From conventional monoculture to a nature-positive, ESG-governed, SDG-aligned value chain — verified at every step.
Why Rice?
Rice paddies are anaerobic environments. When flooded continuously — as most traditional rice cultivation does — they generate methane at scale. Rice agriculture contributes roughly 10% of total global agricultural greenhouse gas emissions, making it one of the largest single sources of food-system methane.
At the same time, rice is the primary caloric foundation for more than half the world's population. Eliminating rice cultivation is not an option. Transforming how it is grown, verified, and traded is.
Producer Co. was built on this insight: the practices that reduce rice's climate footprint — Alternate Wetting & Drying, precision input management, soil health monitoring — are already known. What has been missing is the digital infrastructure to measure them at scale, verify them credibly, and connect that verification to the markets willing to pay for it.
Quantified greenhouse gas reductions and biodiversity credits generated at farm level and verified against VERRA VCS and Gold Standard methodologies.
Structured ESG data meeting CSRD, SEC climate disclosure, and institutional investor requirements — exportable as audit-ready packages.
Connecting verified sustainable rice to global buyers — B-corp retailers, sovereign food programs, and impact investors — with UN Global Marketplace listing support.
Satellite NDVI, soil sensors, and weather stations capture field-level practice data continuously throughout the growing season.
AI models convert sensor data into standardised GHG accounting and ESG metrics aligned to international reporting frameworks.
Third-party auditors sign off on verified outcomes. Results are tokenised as tradeable carbon credits and ESG credentials.
Core Methodology
AWD is the cornerstone sustainable rice practice — a water management technique that dramatically reduces methane emissions while often improving yield. Producer Co. digitises and verifies every step.
Field is flooded to standard depth for transplanting and early growth, as in conventional practice.
Water is allowed to drain naturally. IoT sensors and satellite imagery monitor soil moisture levels continuously.
Producer Co.'s dMRV system logs the drying cycle, timestamps it, and cross-references with methane flux readings.
Fields are reflooded when soil moisture reaches a safe threshold — protecting yield while breaking the anaerobic methane cycle.
Verified cycles are aggregated into a season-long emissions reduction report. Third-party sign-off triggers carbon credit issuance.
Aligned Standards
Producer Co.'s sustainability infrastructure is designed to meet the most rigorous global standards — so verified outputs are accepted by institutional buyers, carbon registries, and regulators worldwide.
Verified Carbon Standard — the world's most widely used voluntary carbon crediting program. Producer Co.'s AWD methodology is structured to meet VCS VM0006 rice cultivation requirements.
Premium carbon and SDG impact certification with co-benefit accounting. Used to demonstrate social and biodiversity co-benefits alongside carbon outcomes in Producer Co. projects.
European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. Producer Co.'s ESG data pipeline generates supply chain emissions data in formats directly compatible with CSRD reporting obligations.
The global gold standard for greenhouse gas accounting. All emissions quantification in Producer Co.'s dMRV pipeline follows GHG Protocol agricultural guidance for Scope 1, 2, and 3.
The Sustainable Rice Platform Standard sets the benchmark for sustainable rice production. Producer Co. uses SRP metrics as a baseline for farm-level assessment and buyer reporting.
Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures. Producer Co. integrates biodiversity monitoring data into TNFD-aligned reporting — enabling nature-risk disclosure for institutional investors.
Who We Serve
Producer Co.'s sustainability infrastructure creates value simultaneously for every participant in the rice value chain — from individual smallholder farmers to global institutional capital.
The 130M+ farmers who grow the world's rice but have historically been invisible to premium markets and climate finance are Producer Co.'s primary beneficiaries.
Agrifood corporations and retailers facing CSRD, SEC climate disclosure, and consumer ESG pressure need audit-ready scope 3 supply chain data — and differentiated sustainable products.
Development banks, green bond issuers, and impact fund managers need verified impact data that meets MRV requirements for SDG reporting and blended finance structures.
National governments across Southeast Asia are under NDC commitments to reduce agricultural emissions. Producer Co. provides the digital MRV backbone for national rice sector decarbonisation programmes.
"Sustainable rice is not a niche — it is the next standard. The market infrastructure to verify, trade, and finance that transition is what Producer Co. is building."
